Youth Voice | Myada: DROP Maternal Health Project Empowers Safe Births & Local Mothers' Economy

来源:中国青年报客户端2026年03月18日

At the 2025 Acceleration Week for Global Youth Development, Myada, founder of the organization DROP — introduced her maternal health project focused on empowering mothers in South Sudan. The initiative provides essential tools and resources to help women in remote villages facilitate safe, independent births, addressing the critical lack of adequate health services and transportation in the region. Inspired by her own mother and her privileged upbringing in the UK, Myada is committed to creating a sustainable model by sourcing products locally and employing the mothers she supports. Her vision is to build a self-sustaining cycle where mothers receive pre-birth assistance and, in turn, gain economic opportunities to care for their children after birth. At its heart, the project is rooted in love — for mothers, for community, and for lasting change.(Editor: Liangyan, Zhang Minyu)
